Who we are

Sarah Jenkins – Managing Director and Principal Consultant

Sarah is an experienced consultant who has undertaken evaluation and research projects in the fields of public engagement, knowledge transfer and education for public, private and third sector clients. She studied Science Communication at the University of West of England, where she developed a strong theoretical knowledge of public engagement to complement her extensive practical experience developed in evaluation of programmes funded by a range of sponsors throughout the UK and overseas.

Sarah set-up Jenesys Associates in 2000 (incorporated in 2006) since which time she has worked in partnership with a team of experienced associate colleagues. She has in-depth understanding and practical experience of engagement activities that have involved internal and external audiences in formal and informal settings. She currently lectures in evaluation for the University of West of England MSc in Science Communication and has also lectured and spoken on evaluation for other universities and learned organisations.

Sarah also has a strong background in communications. From 2004-08 she was employed part-time as Marketing Communications Executive Wales for the Institution of Civil Engineers, where she was responsible for developing and implementing communication and engagement strategies for a wide range of audiences including publics and stakeholders such as employers and policy makers.

She has worked throughout the UK with HEIs on public engagement and third mission activities and projects. From 1995-2000, she was Cardiff University’s Business Manager, a new role where she was responsible for the management, development and promotion of the University’s services to businesses. Her earlier career was spent in technical communications and development roles in the agrochemicals private sector, where she gained practical project management experience through her supervision of many projects and collaborations involving user communities as well as large and small companies and academic and research institutions.
